What did I do?

I helped organisations with compliance, risk analysis and effective policy and protocol related to information security. Our customers were mostly in the health care domain.

What am I proud of?

Getting my first (personally exclusive) project and helping an organisation re-organize their information security policies and practices. Thereby becoming more futureproof and being compliant with legislation for processing sensitive personal data (NEN7510).

What professional skills did I learn?

Working as a cybersecurity consultant in the healthcare sector taught me to look beyond technical controls and understand how large organizations operate. I learned to carefully take into consideration positions of authority, balance conflicting priorities, and guide stakeholders toward a shared goal. Most importantly, I developed the ability to translate intricate security requirements into clear, actionable steps for managers and directors who often simply desired to be compliant without diving into the technical details. This experience shaped my professional identity as someone who can bridge expertise, organizational dynamics, and practical decision-making.

What did I learn about myself?

I've learned that I desire to be able to utilize my creativity more often at work. I've also learned that tangible or measurable result is important to me and that I am passionate about being involved with projects from start to finish. It is very important to me to be able to introduce and work out new ideas. These can be novel ways of working, corporate opportunities or anything else that can be acted upon.
